I’m a big fan of all things supernatural and paranormal and I knew I was going to enjoy Ghost Huntress: The Awakening the minute I read the blurb. My spooky obsession with ghost hunting shows (Ghost Adventures, Paranormal Lockdown etc) most likely made me more biased than most about the themes in this book. However I feel that it’s because of my knowledge of ghost hunting and the equipment they use, that I can truthfully say that Marley Gibson did a phenomenal job of portraying an accurate account of ghost hunting.

Ghost Huntress introduces us to our protagonist Kendall, a smart and sassy teen who faces more than just the challenge of moving to a new small town and a new school – she also has budding psychic abilities. With the help of her high tech neighbour and some new eclectic friends, Kendall finds herself trying to navigate the shadowy spiritual world as well as trying to figure out how to fit in at high school. Packed with spine tingling chapters and a mysterious plot line, Ghost Huntress is everything a Young Adult book should be.

Well written and substantiated with scientific facts, Ghost Huntress: the awakening is fantastic frightening start to this spooky series.
